About Barn Joinery

Founded in 1978 by Kim McGreevy, Barn Joinery has gained a reputable name, renowned for our quality craftsmanship and unique designs. Upon completing his apprenticeship, Kim started to undertake small joinery jobs from an old barn in Litlington; moving to Seabeach Lane in 2000, Eastbourne, where it has been ever since.

Our small but highly skilled team, has over 90 years combined experience. John Barry, once apprentice now Head Bench Joiner has been perfecting his craft for more than 25 years, producing immaculate results every time. Daniel Budd, Bench Joiner, joined in 2019 and Hunter Tennant, Apprentice, in 2023, are both exemplars of the next generation of traditional joiners and cabinet makers.

Simon McGreevy, Managing Director, completed his tutelage under Kim in 2010 and has been leading the business forward since 2016; with a passion for design he brings a modern approach to a traditional craft. Kate
McGreevy joined in 2019, with a background in
Business Management, completing the family team.

Professional Service

Throughout the design and build of your job, we are on hand to guide you through the project and keep you updated, clients can always contact us with queries. Our process is open and transparent, we welcome clients to visit in person and experience the atmosphere of our busy Eastbourne workshop.

We pride ourselves in our professionalism, providing quality without compromise. From the very beginning, we will do our best to be flexible to your needs and guarantee the quality of our work. We want to make sure you get exactly what you expect from our service and most importantly, that you are happy with it.

Respect For The Environment

We understand the value of wood and the environment, wherever possible we aim to re-use and reduce our waste. Our waste is recycled or reused as much as possible. Saw dust goes on to be used in horse stables, chicken hutches or butchers shops. Wood off-cuts are used for fire wood or donated to local schools.

We have built up long standing relationships with local businesses in and around Eastbourne since 1978, ensuring we source the best materials for your job. Close relationships with suppliers enable us to order in both small and large quantities of traditional and specialist wood, sourcing only the materials needed for the job in hand. All timber we order is approved by the FSC.

Quality Craftsmanship

We ensure our designs are sympathetic to the style of your home - a stylish kitchen for your victorian property or a bold bathroom for your modern home. Using the finest materials alongside traditional tried and tested working methods, we make fitted furniture and joinery built to last. Our dedicated team of craftsman work with an attention to detail and respect for the materials.

Our team are fully qualified and trained to the highest standards. It takes many years to learn the trade of true craftsmanship - our team pride themselves on their in depth knowlegde of traditional wood-working methods, many of which are now sadly not taught in modern apprenticeship schemes.
